Reset Password in Windows Vista Password Reset Disk
If you have a password reset disk then it becomes easier to reset your password. Follow the steps below to reset your password using the password reset disk.
- First, insert the disk into your computer.
- Now after you entered a wrong password in the password box an option will appear just below the box.
- Click on the reset password button.
- Now, the disk will run and the Password Reset Wizard will appear on your screen.
- Click on the Next button.
- Now you can enter a new password. You can also enter a hint or the password.
- Click on the Next button.
- Click on the Finish button.
- Now you can restart your computer and log in with the new password.
Reset password in Windows Vista Safe mode
In the Window Vista, there is a hidden account called Administrator. This account is mostly hidden but is always available when need to be used. While installing the Windows Vista, if you didn’t put a password for the administrator then the password remains empty by default. So you can follow these steps if so:
- After pressing the power button on your computer, keep pressing the F8 button. This will open the computer in the Safe mode.
- Now log in with the Administrator account. Remember that the password is empty.
- After the account is open, you can easily reset the password. Open the Control panel.
- Then open User Accounts.
- Select the user whose password you want to change.
- Enter the new password and then restart your computer.
- Now you can use the new password to log in.
