Reset Cisco Router Password

  1. At first you must have Cisco router to reset your password either by switching off or by making shut down to the router.
  2. You need to remove the compact flash which is on the rear of the router.

  14. You need to type config-register as <configuration_register_setting> where <configuration_register_setting>is either the value you recorded in step 2 or 0x2102. For example: hostname (config) #config-register 0x2102.
  15. Now you can end or press Ctrl-zin order to leave the configuration mode and the hostname # prompt appears.
  16. At last you just need to type write memory or copy running-config startup-config for committing the changes.
